Also in partnership with Junior Achievement of Erie County, the Center offers a workshop entitled Driver’s Training For The Credit Card Highway. This workshop is an educational presentation geared toward use in high school classrooms and debuted in May of 2006. It consists of a financial literacy presentation focusing on credit card use and debt prevention. Students win prizes and receive a “Driver’s Manual” that they complete and keep to remind them of important credit information. Students also receive a packet including an informational brochure on students and credit, and the “Be Smart” Credit Card – which serves as a reminder of where to get valuable information on credit.

The Center also provides a “Train The Trainer” packet, including an “Instructor’s Manual”, PowerPoint Presentation, and Student “Driver’s Manuals”, allowing professors, counselors, or student affairs directors to teach the workshop at their individual schools. Driver’s Training For The Credit Card Highway has been presented numerous times in Northwest Pennsylvania and surrounding communities.

At the end of each presentation, evaluation forms are distributed so that each student can rate the workshop on the level of its effectiveness. Here is some feedback we’ve received on previous presentations:
